Glossary of myTrack terms
myAlerts:
An alert system whereby a locate sends distress signal & current location to appointed recipients. To add alerts you will need to go to the myAlerts page by logging in to myTrack online (www.mytrack.co.za) or on your cell phone (mobile.mytrack.co.za)
Consent:
Permission to locate another mobile user - also referred to as location rights.
Consent Request:
The SMS sent by myTrack to a potential locatee asking for permission to be tracked by a locator
myDevices:
This menu shows which devices you plan to track and the tracking function is carried out here.

Location:
The region defined by the returned ‘tracked’ message
Track:
The action performed via myTrack to determine the location of a locatable device
Locatee:
A device that can be tracked (after granting consent) by the system
Location History:
A breakdown list of locations requested by you and your locator(s), viewable online at www.mytrack.co.za
Locator:
A mobile user subscribed to myTrack who has been granted location rights to track a device
myTrack password:
the password used by the subscriber to enter their individual profile. Passwords can be changed on the myProfile tab
myTrack username:
The mobile number used to log into the myTrack website in the +27 format
SMS:
Short Message Service: The most common delivery method for sending location information to your mobile phone
USSD:
Unstructured Supplementary Service Data: Makes use of GSM communication technology to send text between a mobile phone and an application programme, such as myTrack
WAP:
Wireless Application Protocol: Allows you access the Internet with an enabled mobile phone
myZone:
Allows user to set geographic boundaries which will trigger certain actions should a locatee move to & from these zones
